BJP minority cell has welcomed Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh’s statement alleging Shahi Imam of Delhi as communal.

Cell’s Madhya Pradesh president Hidayatullah Sheikh in a statement here on Tuesday said, “Better late than never, the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh showing his candor termed Imam Bukhari as communal. But at the same time Singh should also accept that since independence, the Congress is living on the support Fatwas issued by him and in this situation how come the Congress distance itself from being communal.”

Sheikh added that the Congress has started believing that it is only people like Bukhari who come forward to gain out of the situation while it keeps on claiming to be secular. The Congress party has deceived the people of the country for over six decades, he added.

He said that Singh should also accept that if Bukhari is communal then Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who knocked his doors for getting support, is also communal. Singh has indirectly accepted that people have given right punishment to them for being communal, he added.

The State president of the minority cell said that the BJP never discriminates between the citizens of the country and for it all the citizens of India are equal while for the Congress, the Muslims are mere a vote bank and the party always does politics of appeasement. Whereas the fact is that it has done nothing for the welfare of the community in its over six decades of rule in the country, he added.
