State Congress on Monday alleged that only those BJP leaders who have surrendered before Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, have survived in Madhya Pradesh and added that the saffron party claims to be cadre based political organisation, but all the leaders were busy in ‘worshiping’ of Chouhan.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Kantilal Bhuria also took a jibe over BJP general secretary in-charge Ananth Kumar’s statement during the youth convention of BJP in Bhopal on Sunday, “Hamare pas Shivraj he, Congress ke pas kya he,” (we have Shivraj with us, what Congress has with it).
Bhuria said here in a statement, “There was a time when BJP used to appear as a political organisation in the State, but during the past eight years Chouhan has overruled the organisation and in the result he is now seen as playing dual role of Chief Minister and State president.”
Bhuria further said that Kumar was well aware of this fact and his statement sent a clear message that the BJP had gone bankrupt in leadership and that is why it was not able to find other leader than Chouhan who was embedded with Chief Ministerial glamour. He said that let Kumar and BJP be happy with Chouhan, Congress was proud and satisfied that it had people of the State on its side. As far as leadership is concerned, Congress a long queue of able leaders in the State and these were the leaders who have worked for long among the masses to reach this place, he added.
He alleged that it was for the first time in the history of the State that Chouhan had increased his clout by spending huge sum of government money so much so that the BJP leaders who used to be powerful in the state are now not seen anywhere.
