State BJP leaders have welcomed Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s decision to recommend a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) or Vyapam scam.BJP Madhya Pradesh general secretary Arvind Bhadoriya in a statement here on Tuesday said, “Chief Minister Chouhan’s decision to recommend CBI probe into VYAPAM scam is a bold and laudable step. It was the chief minister who ordered enquiry into the scam when the irregularities in it started surfacing. The STF was constituted to investigate the scam under the monitoring of the High Court and the Supreme Court also expressed satisfaction over the ongoing investigations. The State Government has full faith in the judiciary.”
BJP state spokesman Vijendra Singh Sisodiya said, “The decision of the chief minister is well timed and a welcome step. The Congress is trying to build mountain out of molehill as misleading people has always remained the favourite sport for the Congress. The Congress was stubborn for the CBI enquiry by distrusting the STF investigation going on under the supervision of HighCourt-constituted SIT. The chief minister has made Congress speechless by ordering the CBI probe. The Congress plans have been ruined because its issue has been snatched.”
Another state spokesman and MlA Vishwas Sarang said, “Congress general secretary and his party have nothing to do with the investigation of the Vyapam. The grand old party despite getting out of the power assumes that it is only Congress’ right to rule the State and the country and that is why it is doing pure politics under the cover of investigations of the scam. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan by recommending CBI probe into the scam has taken right step that has locked the lips of the Opposition.”
