State Assembly witnesses uproarious scenes

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Tuesday witnessed uproarious scenes and the House was adjourned for ten minutes as principal Opposition Congress demanded to bring an adjournment motion on a question paper in Higher Secondary Examination related to caste-based reservation.

During the Zero Hour, Deputy leader of the Opposition Bala Bachhan and other Congress members including Ramniwas Rawat and Mukesh Nayak demanded to bring the adjournment motion on the issue. But Speaker Sitasaran Sharma did not accept it citing that the written request for adjournment motion should have come before 8.30 am but the Congress members submitted it late. Hence, it could not be accepted, he pointed out. But Congress members stuck to their demands. Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra stood up and said the Congress never discussed about the problem of farmers who were suffering for extensive damage of their crops due to natural calamity. He described Congress as anti-farmer.

Mishra said that the Education Minister already admitted during a reply that there was some mistake on the part of the Madhya Pradesh Textbook Corporation. He alleged that Congress believed in caste-based politics.

As soon as the Question Hour began, Bachhan raised the issue but the Speaker assured him that the matter could be discussed during the Zero Hour.
