Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday said his Government was already providing foodgrain at a subsidised rate, compared to the UPA Government at the Centre.
“They are talking today, but we have already brought out the Food Security Bill in 2008. Since then, we are providing reasonable and nutritious food. We are even subsidising it to `1 per kg wheat. The Congress is doing it now, whereas we have already done it,” he pointed out.
Chouhan was talking to mediapersons along with Baba Ramdev, whom he called on at Sant Niwas in Arera Colony on Saturday. Ramdev is here for a private programme.
Chouhan said inclusion of yoga and moral teachings in academic courses was being considered. According to him, Ramdev was engaged in nation-building on the basis of values. “We are with him in his resolve for building a corruption-free India and change in system,” he added.
Baba Ramdev termed Chouhan the best and ideal Chief Minister. He praised Chouhan’s work for Madhya Pradesh’s development and basic educational reforms, along with his efforts to infuse spiritual values in the system.
Ramdev also criticised the Congress for its tactics to win votes, adding that they would not work anymore. “Congress’ strategy of providing food cheap for garnering votes will not succeed,” he said.
