St Xavier's Sr Sec School, (Kindergarten Section) put up a thrilling, but meaningful performance in the KG Annual Function on Saturday. The theme of the programme was 'Paper Boat', a beautiful metaphor for life's journey coloured by a child's innocent and joyful heart.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Dr Leo Cornelio, the Archbishop of Bhopal and other dignitaries. The Almighty's blessings were invoked on the event with a wonderful prayer dance, set to a melodious song. Children in colourful dresses happily and heartily welcomed everyone with a jazzy Welcome song.
A skit was presented on the theme 'Paper boat', which depicted that one doesn't need costly and high tech toys to find joy rather the simple pleasures of life can bring greater satisfaction and fulfillment. The simple toys like 'paper boat' along with entertainment also teach "simple living nut high thinking".
Dr Leo Cornelio, the Archbishop of Bhopal appreciated the efforts of the management, students, teachers and parents in presenting such a grand programme. He was highly impressed by the talented tiny tots. In his speech he urged everyone to give up selfishness and work for the greater good. He said society needs to change but first we need to change ourselves with positive and constructive thoughts.
The programme ended with scintillating dance performance.
The high point of the finale dance was when the whole stage was taken over by Kid Santas who swayed to the tune Jingle bells and brought the audience to its feet in applause. With best wishes of Christmas and the New Year the evening came to end with the National Anthem. It was truly a memorable evening.
