The sports enthusiasts of All India Radio enjoyed a four- day sports event.
The sports event was organised by Akashwani Recreation Club from February 27. The sports enthusiasts enjoyed the outdoor and indoor games to the fullest. There were the games including Table Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball, Chess, Carrom and more. The series concluded on Friday.
The sports event was organised with an aim to let the employees take pleasure of their favourite sports and also to take a break from hectic life style. While informing about the sports activities, secretary of Akashwani Recreation Club Purshottam Srivas said that all the four days were full of enthusiasm and energetic spirit. All the employees had a great time playing the sports they like.
Some of them were excellent while some played just for the joyous feeling.
He said that all the sports activities were held in two categories. The categories were divided as men’s category and women’s category.
While informing more about it, he said that in both the categories the players showcased a wondrous performance. In most of the matches the players played neck-to-neck and few matches were a total treat to watch.
Under men’s category Praveen Singh stole away the show. He won the medals in chess and carrom. In Badminton Rajesh Bhatt won the medal under men’s category.
In Volleyball, Mohan Singh and team emerged as the winners.
Under women’s category Urmila Pauranik won the first prize in chess. On the other hand Suchita Dawade, Manjusha Pandropandey and Sherley George won medals in badminton, carrom and cheer race respectively.
