A 40-year-old woman was mowed down by a speeding vehicle at Gandhi Nagar trisection under Gandhi Nagar police station area on Saturday. According to the police the victim Radha Bai had gone to meet her relative in Gandhi Nagar area and when she was at Gandhi Nagar trisection a speeding vehicle hit her and escaped the spot. The victim was rushed to Hamidia hospital where she died during treatment in the wee hours on Sunday.
A complaint was lodged by the victim’s family with the Gandhi Nagar police that the victim Radha Bai was hit by a speeding car at Gandhi Nagar trisection while she was trying to cross the trisection to catch a city bus. The family was not able to provide the details of the errant vehicle.
After preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile an 18-year-old girl died while undergoing treatment at Hamidia hospital who sustained burn injuries on August 6 at her residence in Krishna Colony under Gautam Nagar police station area. According to the police the victim Nagma sustained severe burns after her clothes caught fire while cooking at her residence on August 6.
