SP leader demands Chouhan's resignation

Over the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam, the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Monday demanded Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s resignation on moral grounds.

SP Madhya Pradesh president Ashok Yadav, addressing the party workers at Shahjehani Park before leaving for the Assembly to register the party’s protest, said, “Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan time and again claimed to be innocent and that he does not have anything to do with the infamous scam that has darkened the future of lakhs of youth of the state. But why is his government shying away from a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe of the scam.”

Yadav said that the people of state do not trust the Special Task Force (STF) probing the scam as they consider it as a parrot of Chouhan and the state government hence “we demand a CBI probe into the MPPEB, PSC and other recruitment and entrance tests conducted by the MPPEB.”

He said if Chouhan is honest as proclaimed by him then why is he trying to evade a CBI probe of the MPPEB and MPPSC scams and why is he interfering in the STF probe. If Chouhan has a little bit of morality in him then he should immediately recommend CBI probe of the scam and step down from the office of Chief Minister as an impartial probe is not possible till he is holding the top office of the state, he added.

He said that the scan has not only darkened the future of lakhs of youths of the state but has also shamed the state. The scam has demoralized the promising and poor students.
