Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has alleged that Congress president Sonia Gandhi made Manmohan Singh a Prime Minister sans power, during the past ten years.
Addressing an election rally in favour of Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Vidisha lok Sabha constituency, Sushma Swaraj, on Sunday, the Chief Minister said, the wave in favour of the BJP can be seen all over the country.
Taking a dig at Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh, Chouhan said he was using all tricks to help his younger brother and Congress candidate from Vidisha, laxman Singh emerge victorious but he would not be succeeded.
Exuding confidence that Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government will come to power at the Centre after the elections, Chouhan, asked Congress president Sonia Gandhi to learn from him to eradicate poverty.
Chouhan questioned people as to why would they vote for the Congress, when the grand old party has failed to meet its promise of arresting inflation.
Maintaining that his Government was alive to the woes of hailstorm-hit farmers in the State, Chouhan said let polling be over on April 24, compensation money would be transferred to the bank accounts of farmers on April 26.
Chauhan said that Congress had made an unbreakable series of false promises. Congress deceived innocent public every time and has lost its image among public. People have to decide whom they want to see their next leader.
Swaraj, leader of Opposition in the outgoing lok Sabha said, the Congress led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government of the centre failed on all fronts during its ten years tenure. She said she came here like a student who would show marks of her five years work before the people of the constituency.
Swaraj won the last election here easily–the Congress candidate’s nomination was cancelled at the last minute on a technicality.
Sushma appealed to voters to throw out “corrupt” Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre.
