Solar Pump Yojana of the Urja Vikas Nigam has changed the lives of farmers of Barpanihar of Devnagar Purana of Gotegaon block in Narsinghpur district. They were finding it difficult to irrigate their fields as electric lines were nearly one km away from a few fields.
Mukhya Mantri Solar Pump Yojana has proved successful in removing this difficulty. Now, Suryakant Patel’s field is being irrigated without electricity through Mukhya Mantri Solar Pump Yojana. Suryakant does not have to pay electricity bills now.
Suryakant is pursuing farming along with other members of his family since a long time at Barpanihar of Devnagar Purana. With electric lines being far from the field, he was finding it difficult to get power connection for irrigation pump. When he received the info about the Mukhya Mantri Solar Pump Yojana, he contacted the Urja Vikas Nigam district office. His case was approved after examination in the fixed process.
Suryakant told that a 5 hp submersible solar pumping system has been installed in his field. It costs nearly 4.50l. Suryakant has deposited only Rs68K from this amount as his contribution. The rest 85% amount has been approved in the form of subsidy. Today his 10 acre rakba is being fully irrigated through solar pump.
Farmers from other areas have also decided to avail benefit of the Mukhya Mantri Solar Pump Yojana taking cue from Suryakant.
