Energy Development Corporation has prepared a project report to fulfill the partial electricity needs of various office buildings and community services through solar plants, under which solar plants of 2.13 MW would be installed at various work places.
Mayor Alok Sharma said that under the report, there is one project for Karbala Raw Water Pumping Station would be illuminated by solar energy and use 750 HP pumps with solar energy for lifting raw water at Karbala pump house. This would save around 13,000 units of electricity every day.
Solar plant of 1 MW is proposed for the station which will produce 5000 units of electricity everyday and it would cater the day requirement of the pump house.
