A team of SmartCity, Dubai is scheduled to visit Madhya Pradesh for exploring possibilities of developing a smart city between the State capital and Indore.
On the maiden day of his Dubai visit, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday met the company's Chief Executive Officer Abdullatif AlMulla who evinced interest in development of a smart city in Madhya Pradesh.
The company develops knowledge-based commercial cities. A smart city coming up in Kochi would be a self-reliant industrial township where knowledge-based companies would function. During the Chief Minister's discussions with company officials, consensus was reached that it would participate in the October Global Investors' Summit in Indore.
SmartCity is pioneering company in the development of knowledge-based commercial cities. So far, it has developed 12 business townships and 5 industry clusters. SmartCity-Dubai is based on successful models of Internet City, Dubai Media City and Dubai Knowledge City where knowledge-based companies are provided state-of-the-art infrastructure environs and support system.
Urban Administration and Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Higher & Technical Education Minister Umashankar Gupta and Industries Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia were present on the occasion.
During Chouhan's discussions with company's officers, consensus was also reached that the company will take part in Global Investors' Summit in October at Indore.
Chouhan and the high-level delegation of Madhya Pradesh also visited Nakheel Properties headquarters in Dubai late Wednesday evening. CEO of Nakheel Properties Sanjay Manchanda apprised the Chief Minister about the company. Nakheel is a real estate developer in Dubai.
It has worked on a number of land reclamation projects -- including Palm Islands, Dubai Waterfront and World and The Universe Islands. It has also worked on a number of housing projects — including The Gardens, International City, Jumeirah Island and Jumeirah late Towers. Its shopping malls include The Dragon Mart and Ibn-e-Batuta.
