The special police establishment (SPE) of lokayukta on Wednesday conducted raid at the residence of Jitendra Tiwari, Executive Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurshi Development Madhya Pradesh (CEDMP).

The SPE sleuths raided Tiwari’s Arera Colony house early in the morning. The action was initiated after the lokayukta police received a complaint that Tiwari had amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Several allegations of financial irregularities were levelled at Tiwari in the past. Also, he was accused of continuing on his post despite end of his tenure.

“We have found documents about his ownership of several shops, residential plots and house in posh localities in Bhopal and Indore apart from nearly 2-kg gold jewellery,” said a lokayukta police official, adding that assets to the tune of Rs 2 crore that are disproportionate to his earnings, have been detected and the search is on.

The properties of Tiwari found so far included three shops in the Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) premises, one flat in Indore and one flat in Ansal Apartment of Bhopal. He possesses a bank account in SBI, TT Nagar branch and a locker in the same bank. Besides, he owns a departmental store in TT Nagar in the name of his wife.

Notably, Tiwari had recently faced allegations of irregularities and in this regard, the High Court had on July 10 issued notices to State government, CEDMP Controller, lokayukta police and EOW. It was mentioned in the petition filed in the High Court that Tiwari got retired on May 31, 2015, but he continued to work on the same position.
