The Admission Fee Regulatory Committee has imposed a fine of Rs 13.10 crore on six private medical colleges on the charge of providing admissions in management quota encroaching upon Government quota seats.

The action was taken after Dr Anand Rai of Indore had lodged a complaint with the Admission Fee Regulatory Committee regarding the irregularities in the allotment of seats to the new entrants.

Chairman of Admission Fee Regulatory Committee TR Thapak told that colleges which have been penalised have to pay the fine within next two months and if the colleges fail to follow the instructions they would be charged an additional 12 per cent interest on the fine.
