The Bhopalites enjoyed a calm and delightful evening of Sitar recitation and Khuchipudi dance here on Sunday at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum. The performance was held under the Uttaradhikar series of music and dance performances.

The programme started with the Sitar recitation by  Meena Nagpal. She began her spontaneous performance with Raga Yemen. After this, Meena Nagpal mesmerized the audience by playing the sitar in the melodious Ragas with fellow artists. In this performance Meena Nagpal was accompanied by her disciples Urvi Kulkarni and Ajay Kulkarni on tabla.

After the Sitar recitation, the audience enjoyed the Kuchipudi dance by Girish Chandra and Devi Girish with their fellow artists. In this presentation, artists presented 'Arjun Dasnamamam' (ten names of Arjun) beautifully on stage. In this presentation about an hour, artists sculpted the story or cause of all names of Arjuna on the stage with their dancing skills.

Like Arjun won all the countries, brought money from those countries, located in the middle of the money, hence his name was 'Dhananjay'. Similarly, when Arjuna visits the Sangram, then there is no return from the enemies without winning the enemies, hence their name is 'Vijay'. The golden and white horses are used on Arjun's chariot, hence his name is 'Shvetvahan'. Arjuna was born on the Himalayas, so people started calling him 'falgun'.

Indra was wearing a bright crown on Arjun's head, hence his name is 'Kirit'. Arjuna does not do terrible things while battling, that is why he is famous among the Gods 'Bibhatsu'. Both Arjuna's hands are skilled in dragging Gadvi, so they also call them 'Satya Sanchi'. Arjun like purusha is rare and Arjuna performs pure karma, so people know me by the name 'Arjun'. Arjun has suppressed Durjai, hence his name is Jishnu. Arjun's tenth name is Krishna, his father is kept, because Arjun's character is between Shyam and Gaur.

The audience were totally enthralled with the performances.
