SIT fails to take action despite DMET treasurer's disclosure

The SIT did not take immediate action even after the exposure by the treasurer of DMET Yogesh Upreet. The suspicion on tampering with the data, therefore, has increased. Had the police taken immediate action, important data could have been seized from the DMET and private medical colleges, but due to the carelessness of the administration the accused in the scam got the opportunity to escape punishment.

According to sources, when the SIT caught Yogesh Upret five days ago, he exposed the names of influential persons including Ministers and senior officers involved in the scam. The SIT gave information to STF but the police did not crosscheck the information and did not raid the office of DMET and private medical colleges.

The SIT Gwalior is taking Upreet to the headquarters of STF in Bhopal. The SIT in-charge Virendra Jain would also reach Bhopal. Here, the ADG of STF Sudheer Shahi would take complete information from Upreet. As per rules, when the OMR sheet is destroyed within three months in DMET, so it is doubtful that police can get important data.

The name of a renowned doctor has also come up in the DMET scam. He is accused of admitting his daughter through DMET. The police have also not taken any action against him. Another scam in MP medical council has come out regarding registration of doctors. A case of allotment of one registration number to two separate doctors has come out in the State unit of SIT.

According to sources, the registration number 11335 from MP branch of Medical Council of India was allotted to Dr Mamta Kachwaha in 1992 in Balaghat. later on the same number was issued to Dr Himanshu Gupta of Satna in 2010.
