A 20-year-old girl died while her younger sister is struggling for life after they had jumped into the Upper lake to commit suicide on Tuesday.
According to the police, the girls jumped into the Upper lake near Sheetal Das Ki Bagiya. The on duty divers of BMC rushed to their rescue and fished out the two girls and were rushed to Hamidia hospital where one of the girls was declared dead while other one was admitted in a critical condition at hospital.
When Rinki gained conscious she provided details of her family after which her family was informed.
Police were informed and on the receipt of the information a police team was rushed to the spot and after preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem.
In the investigation the identity of the victims was established as Pinki Jadhav (20) and Rinki Jadhav (18). The victims are sisters and are residents of Sankhedi under Kolar police station area.
The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
locals told police that both the girls were roaming around the lake for quite some time. Father of the victims works as a security guard while their brother works as labour.
