In support of the High Court’s decision to end reservation in promotion and to pull back the appeal in Supreme Court against this decision by the State Government, Madhya Pradesh Samanya, Pichda Varg, Alpasankhyak Adhikari- Karmachari Morcha (MPSPVAAKM) organised a signature campaign at Vindyachal Bhavan here on Wednesday.

The officials and employees of Vindhyachal Bhavan took part in the campaign. The general secretary of MPSPVAAKM lakshminarayan Sharma said that the campaign was started on May 16, 2016 in the entire State. This signature campaign will continue for an entire month.

He further said that on May 16, 17 and 18, the campaign was held at Vallabh Bhavan and Satpura Bhavan besides Vindyachal Bhavan, where all the official and employees signed the petition. On Thursday the campaign will be held at Paryawas Bhavan, he added.

He further said that by the third day of the campaign in Bhopal alone 2500 signatures have been collected. Many of the official and employees are not able to take part due to their office timings. For this the MPSPVAAKM has decided to place a representative in all those government offices and get everyone to sign, he added.

Sharma further said that after collecting all the signatures the MPSPVAAKM will submit it to the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He further said that if the State government brings new bill for reservation in promotion then the MPSPVAAKM will protest state wide against it.

He said that the MPSPVAAKM has submitted an ‘Intervener application’ against the State Governments appeal at Supreme Court. The hearing of this application will be in the third week of September. Advocate Varun Chopra and Harsh Parashar will represent the MPSPVAAKM at the Supreme Court.
