On the occasion of World Environment Day, an exhibition ‘Punarnava’, using dry leaves and flowers, by Shashiprabha Shrivastava was inaugurated at the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sanghralaya.
Shashiprabha Shrivastava is an expert in artwork from dried flowers, leaves and twigs of small plants.  This artwork is very rare and arduous. lord Budha said a person who has understood the magic of flowers his whole life will be changed. Yes, Shashiprabha has seen the beauty of the flowers and the plants.  It is a natural process that the plants grow, flower and become dry. Then they are thrown as a waste. But Shashiprabha collected them and dried them.
In this manner the shape and colour of the flowers and plants were preserved. If not dried in such a safe manner they lose their shape and colour. The whole process is quite indigenous and arduous. The flowers and plants are given shape by cutters, scissors then picked by small forceps (chimties) and pasted by fevicol on paper preferably handmade having good matching background.
The plants and flowers are collected from all around India. The flowers and plants have been collected dried and used. It is not necessary to get flowers and plants from beautiful Gardens they are preferred from natural locations. In all 37 artwork – pictures were donated to Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya.
