All India Women’s Congress president Shobha Oza, who reached the State Capital on Monday, demanded resignation of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh over sterilisation deaths.
Terming the incident as unfortunate, Oza alleged that the Chhattisgarh Government is taking the issue very lightly and is trying to suppress the case and demanded a judicial inquiry. “The Health Minister should be suspended, as it is the third case under her tenure. The entire Health Ministry and State Government are involved in this malpractice,” she added.
Oza also called on the ailing Riti Tripathi here who is undergoing treatment in a local hospital at Shahpura. Riti was thrown out of a running train last week by miscreants.
later talking to the media, the Women’s Congress president targeting the State Government over the issue alleged that the law and order situation in the State is going bad to worse under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rule.
Oza was all praise for the courage shown by Riti and said that the Congress party is with her in this hard time. Oza said, “Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan claims to be a well-wisher of women but in his rule hooligans are mercilessly attacking women.”
Oza while responding to media queries over resignation of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) vice-president Manak Agarwal over distribution of tickets in the civic elections, said, “Agarwal resigns before every election but unfortunately his resignation never reached the State Congress president or the party High Command. His resignations are meant only for the media.”
