SHO withdraws VRS application within hours

Published on:
After dramatic consequences, the SHO of Piplani Police Station withdrew his Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) application, within a few hours on Friday. The police officer agreed to withdraw the application after meeting Director-General of Police (DGP).
SHO of Piplani police station Madan Mohan Choudhary attracted media glare throughout the day after he applied for VRS in the morning on Friday. The reason behind his taking this extreme step is stated as refusal by his seniors to allow him for visiting Delhi few days ago for narrating poems at a programme.
The drama started after Choudhary’s application, which was forwarded to DIG Shreenivasa Varma and then to DGP Surendra Sinh for review and approval.
DGP Sinh after receiving the application informed Choudhary to meet him and after meeting Sinh, Choudhary resumed his services. Choudhary is into poetry and participates in poets’ meets quite frequently. On Thursday, he was allowed to attend a poets’ meet in Bhojpur Mahatsov, but when he applied for leave on February 27 and 28, to attend a poet’s meet in Delhi his leave application was rejected due to the ongoing State assembly Budget session.
At the end of the day, Choudhary agreed to resume his work and returned to police station. Before returning to work, he met Additional Superintendent of Police Zone II Riyaz Iqbal.
Choudhary was promoted to Station House Officer (SHO) in 2010 and was recently transferred to the city and posted at the Piplani police station. He is in the department for 27 years.
