Former Minister laxmikant Sharma was sacked from the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday. After Sharma was arrested and produced in the district court, the sequence of events was quite dramatic.
While Sharma was produced in the court, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan arrived from South Africa. He told media persons that the law would take its course. Besides, State BJP president and Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was in the city since Sunday morning. However, he did not speak out anything regarding Sharma’s arrest. After he was arrested, there had been speculations that the party would terminate membership of Sharma. However, in the evening the party claimed that Sharma himself tendered his resignation from the party and the State BJP president Tomar has accepted it. With this, it has been clear that politically Sharma has been ruined.
