On the claims made over Swach Bharat Mission, leader of the Opposition in the State assembly Ajay Singh alleged that all claims made by BJP national president Amit Shah and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have proven hollow.
Taking reference of Shah’s sharing of data under Swach Bharat Mission in which 143 cities, 17,616 villages and 11 districts of Madhya Pradesh were declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) but the claims proved wrong as on Sunday when Shah went to have food at a tribal Kamal Singh Uike’s house in a village near the state capital it was not having toilet and in its absence, the family members are forced to in open for defecation.
Ajay Singh alleged that Uike has filed an application around 6 months ago and is still waiting for the construction and benefit from the scheme.
He said that the State has received `427 crores under the scheme and if the State capital is facing such situation one could imagine situation of other villages across the State.
Further he added that same condition is applicable for schemes of central government which has led to the worsening of situation in the State.
The family members, later, told media that they were yet to build a toilet. “We had submitted an application with the Bhopal Municipal Corporation six months ago for a toilet, but the civic body is yet to respond to their plea,” a member of the Uike family told media.
The Uike family lives in a village in the outskirts of Bhopal, adjudged the second cleanest city in the 2017 Swachhta Survey, leading to further ignominy for the ruling party.
