A major accident took place in the Ramdaha Falls located in the Koriya district of Chhattisgarh. Seven people who came here for a picnic drowned in the water.
The accident happened when they went inside the fall to take a bath. Four people died in the accident and one has been admitted to the hospital. While the search for two other people is on, the case is of Kotadol police station area.
As per early information, 15 to 16 people originally from Baidhan in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh had gone for picnic to Ramdaha Falls of Bharatpur block located in Koriya district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday.
After this, seven of these people went inside for a bath around 12 noon. But the accident happened due to the rise in water level.
Some people were present around the time of the incident, who had also taken out two people with great effort, but by then a young man had lost his life. A woman has been admitted to a nearby hospital in a serious condition. After this, the search for the survivors was done.
During the search itself, four more people were pulled out of the water, but by then they had lost their lives. The incident was also reported to the police. On receiving the news, the police team reached the spot. At the same time, divers are searching for the remaining two people.
According to the administration, it is forbidden to go near the waterfall. It has also been told that a warning board has also been put up here regarding bathing. The administration has declared it as a danger zone. Additional Superintendent of Police of Singrauli district said that people from different families of Singrauli district had gone to Ramdaha Falls.
It has been told that a youth named Ratnesh Singh has died in this accident. A woman named Surekha Singh was rescued. Apart from these, Shweta Singh (22), Himanshu Singh (18), Shraddha Singh (14), Abhay Singh (22) and Rishabh Singh (24) were submerged in the waterfall. All of them are residents of Majan Mod, Jayant Colony, Nigahi Colony of the district.
About five months ago there was an accident in the same waterfall. During that time three youths died due to drowning. They were also residents of Madhya Pradesh. Everyone had come here from Umaria district for a picnic. The accident happened while taking a bath.
