Pithampur police arrested seven people including five men and two women threatening the businessman and shopkeepers of Pithampur industrial area demanding heavy amount of money one time and a fix amount of money every month.
All the 7 accused were posing themselves as reporters and assuring the businessmen that if they pay money to them monthly, they will not publish the illegal works going on at their shops.
SDOP Dhar Tarunendra Singh Baghel told The Pioneer that all these seven people from Indore were regularly visiting Pithampur industrial area in SUV car MP 09 CT 2482 equipped with two hooters on top of the SUV since many days and were demanding heavy amount of money from businessmen.
All the seven accused called the businessman at hotel Navaal on Rau khalghat fourlane where the police team led by DSPTarunendra Singh Baghel andT I Pithampur Lokesh Singh Bhadouriya and policeman arrested all the seven accused while they were negotiating with businessman at hotel Naval. The accused are Kapil son of Bhagwandas Asoliya, Amit Lalwani son of Jaipal Lalwani, Kamal Chouhan, son of Kailash Chandra Chouhan, Pavan Solanki, son of Ramesh Chandra Solanki, Pushpa Yadav wife of Gopal Yadav, Garima makrani wife of Sani Makrani and Nitin son of Sitaram Kanare. Police registered the case against all the seven accused under different sections of the IPC.
The accused were produced in court where they got the bail. The SUV car has been seized by the police.
SDOP Pithampur Tarunendra Singh Baghel told The Pioneer that police also recovered a press card and identity card of IPS officer from the accused which is under investigation and few accused arrested have the previous criminal record which we will produce in the court and appeal the court for the cancellation of the bail.
