Sensation prevailed at Upper Lake after a one-year-old baby girl was found dead in the morning; Talaiya police have started investigation.
Police said panic prevailed after a body surfaced at Upper lake and police were informed immediately by the locals after they spotted the body.
Police said the body was of a baby girl who was around one year old and were trying to establish the identity of the body.
All the nearby police stations have been informed regarding the body which could help in establishing the identity of the deceased.
The post mortem report is awaited and after receiving the post mortem report the reason of the death could be ascertained.
After the preliminary investigation police registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC.
Police said that the baby was having clothes which suggests that she was thrown into the water. The circumstantial evidences suggest that the baby was killed.
The other possibility of any sexual harm could be ascertained after the post mortem report is received.
The investigation has been started and her identity was not revealed till the filing of the report. Meanwhile, a 76-year-old man died under suspicious circumstances after he was found unconscious near Bharat talkies bridge under Mangalwara police station area on on Thursday. The deceased, identified as Gopal Ahirwar of Khurai Sagar was found unconscious and when taken to hospital he was declared dead.
Police found that the deceased was suffering from problems in stomach and head and came to Bhopal for treatment. The reason of the death would be investigated said police.
