The technical students of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) would be acquainted with new arriving technologies these days. A daylong seminar on ‘Cloud Computing’ would be held at MANIT’s premises here on Friday.

The seminar ‘Market Oriented Cloud Computing and Big Data Application’ would be held for the students of Department of computer science and engineering to lear the benefits of the cloud computing in marketing. This seminar would also be helpful for them to enhance their marketing skills in future.

The seminar would begin with an expert’s lecture. The lecture would be addressed by the Director of Clouds lab, University of Melbourne Rajkumar Buyya. Rajkumar Buyya is also editor-in-chief of IEEE transactions on cloud computing.

Notably, in computer networking, cloud computing is computing that involves a large number of computers connected through a communication network such as the Internet, similar to utility computing. In science, cloud computing is a synonym for distributed computing over a network, and means the ability to run a program or application on many connected computers at the same time.

Network-based services, which appear to be provided by real server hardware and are in fact served up by virtual hardware simulated by software running on one or more real machines, is often called cloud computing.

Such virtual servers do not physically exist and can therefore be moved around and scaled up or down on the fly without affecting the end user, somewhat like a cloud becoming larger or smaller without being a physical object. All the aspects would be covered in the seminar that would begin from 9:30 am.
