A daylong seminar on 'Sexual Harrassment' was held at Radharaman Group of institutes here on Tuesday.
In collaboration with Josh Talks and Vivel (ITC Company) the seminar was held in the auditorium of Radharaman Institute of Technology and Science. Expert speaker Aashna from Josh Talks conducted the seminar on 'Know Your Rights' which was centered around sexual harrassment.
In this workshop, information on social and legal aspects related to tampering and excessive, and tips on preventing such cases were shared.
She said that dirty jokes, fractures physical characteristics, talking about sexual activities and spreading rumors, sending written material or obscene pictures, touching with wrong intentions, and pressing for sexual activity etc. things are covered under sexual heritage.
Such a woman or a man can be with anyone and both have the right to seek legal help.
Ashna said that in most cases girls are silently tolerating such kind of torture, which encourages atrocities.
He said that not only in these cases should the members of the family be informed, but the help of the police and the organizations working in this area should be sought from them.
Also, girls should also take self-defense training so that they can respond to the needful.
Group Chairman RR Saxena said that all the incidents that happen with us revolve around our rights. It is a great success for the students and everyone to know their rights and to be aware.
He said that his group organizes various programs throughout the year from its faculty members to keep students aware of the problems of their civil rights and society.
The purpose of these programmes is to make students better citizens and ensure their livelihood in social development.
