Taking precautionary steps tight security arrangements have been made by district police for peaceful Rangpanchami celebrations that would be held along with the Muslim prayers on Friday.
District police along with Special Armed Force (SAF), Rapid Action Force (RAF) would be deployed during the Rangpanchami celebrations.More than 120 police patrolling vehicles would remain alert and maintain peace during the celebrations. The police vans would remain mobile throughout the day across the city and strictly monitor the celebrations to make citizens safe and secure.
Around 3000 police personnel would be deployed to avert any untoward situation during the celebration. Holi which is festival of colors is one of the festivals that has flared communal tension at times.Around 200 sensitive places have been identified which include public places, religious places and roundabouts. These are the places where huge gathering of the revelers is witnessed during Rangpanchami and miscreants might remain active there.
Processions would be carried out from six different places in the city and the district police personnel would follow these processions to avoid any untoward incidents.Traffic management would be handled strictly and the violators would not be spared. Drunken drivers would be penalized and miscreants violating traffic rules would be caught and fined.
As the Rangpanchami and Friday prayers of Muslims fall on the same day, senior police officials have held meeting with the senior members of both the communities to maintain harmony and peace in the city.
