An encounter took place between a joint team of latehar police Jharkhand Jaguar CoBRA 209 battalion and CPI Maoists at latu this Monday afternoon in latehar district.
Sources said the joint team of security forces was after the Maoists since last night following a tip off of their presence in latu.
Sources said the encounter has been ( so far) casualty free on both the sides. SP latehar Anoop Birtharey has confirmed the gun fight between the security forces and the Maoists at latu this Monday afternoon.
Birtharey told the Pioneer in response to a query ' We have not discovered so far any pool of blood and so any claim to inflict injuries or casualties in the contingent of the Maoists is very outlandish'. SP added our boys are safe and in high spirit following the dispersal of the Maoists for whom the operation and search are still on late in the day.
SP latehar added the contingent of MAoists was led by Bara Vikas a highly esteemed confidant of top gun of the Maoists Arvindji. Security forces have recovered pithoos, bullet pouches, blankets and medicines. There is no word on any recovery of any abandoned weapon of the Maoists. Sources said the encounter which took place at two in the Monday afternoon belied all conjectures that intense heat had pulled back the security forces to remain after the Maoists in day as this latu encounter took place in the full hot Sun.
