Secretary of Auqaf-e-Shahi Bhopal in a letter to Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board (MPWB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) clarified its stand over the ongoing confusion on the constitution of advisory panel.

Mehboob Hashmi-Secretary of Auqaf e Shahi in reply to MPWB CEO’s letter dated June 16, urged to cancel its previous order dated March 16, 2014. “In my letter to former Secretary of Auqaf-e-Shahi Bhopal Anwar Mohammed Khan, by mistake it was mentioned that ‘board of directors’ has been constituted, whereas the fact is that for the smooth running of Auqaf-e-Shahi and to bring in transparency in it, I appointed some eminent citizens as advisors to assist the Mutawalli to carry on her work smoothly. I have all the rights for the same under the Waqf Act 1995 and section 03 of Amended Waqf Act 2013.”

Hashmi requested the CEO MPWB that in the copy of the letter dated March 16, 2014, the ‘board of directors’ should be read as ‘Appointed person for advice’. He further said, “As per the instructions of the Mutawalli I am making you aware with this fact.”
