SDOP transferred at MlA's behest

After Congress MlA Hemant Katare raised the issue and discussed the matter with the DGP that a sub divisional officer of police (SDOP) posted in Ater of Bhind district was falsely implicating him in a case, the State government on Thursday transferred the officer.

The officer Indraveer Singh Bhadoria, on Wednesday, had added the name of Hemant Katare in a charge-sheet of a case related to atrocities against a member of the Scheduled Caste community. Bhadoria, however, could not satisfy the judge in Bhind when he was asked as to why Katare had not been arrested.

While talking to media persons here on Thursday, Katare told, “The judge asked him where is Katare, to which, he said that he is absconding. The judge, however, was not convinced as I'm an active local MlA and participate in various programmes in the region.”

On further questioning by the judge it was revealed that Bhadoria has decided to add Katare's name in the charge sheet as a conspirator at the last moment on his own. The charge-sheet did not have the sanction of the district prosecuting officer and the district superintendent of police as is mandated by law.

Katare late in the evening contacted the district superintendent of police, who according to him, accepted that Bhadoria had acted on his own.

According to Katare, Bhadoria tried to implicate him in a false case as he had sought his removal from the district after he was caught taking money for allowing illegal sand mining in the crocodile sanctuary area of the Chambal river, in a sting operation that was conducted about two months back. The government at that time had taken no action against Bhadoria.
