Scorching heat grips Madhya Pradesh

Published on:

As Madhya Pradesh continues to battle intense heatwave conditions, concerns are rising over the well-being of school children forced to attend classes in sweltering environments. Despite daytime temperatures soaring past 40°C in multiple districts, schools remain operational, often without adequate cooling arrangements, leaving students vulnerable to heat-related illnesses.

Parents have raised alarms, urging authorities to either announce early summer vacations or implement more effective measures. However, the response from district officials, including the District Collector and District Education Officer (DEO), has been limited to adjusted school timings, which critics argue are insufficient to protect children from the extreme heat.
