Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia in a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed his displeasure over alleged indifferent attitude adopted by the State Government towards proper treatment of swine flu.
He told the chief minister that the present condition of swine flu in the State is causing concern. This situation would have not arised if the health department had woken up from its deep slumber around 26 days ago. “I have come to know that the State Government had issued orders to private hospital in Bhopal to do not talk about the disease. The reason why the Government has taken such a step is unknown. He said that the disease may become epidemic. The number of people affected is growing day by day. The number of death has reached 60, while there is only one laboratory in Jabalpur for testing the samples for swine flu,” he added.
In view of the situation, three more laboratories should be established in Indore, Bhopal and Gwalior. There are not enough resources for the treatment of swine flu in district hospitals. The ventilators, masks and Tami flu tablets are not available. Hence, the district collectors and CMHO’S should be ordered to provide these facilities immediately and the measures of prevention of the disease should be propagated through print, electric media, etc, he added.
In the letter, Scindia said that he would also meet the Union Health Minister and ask him to provide cooperation to the Madhya Pradesh through Government of India.
