Union Power Minister (Independent Charge) Jyotiraditya Scindia has said the Central Government was committed for the development of Madhya Pradesh.
Flagging off a new weekly train between Indore and Yashwantpur (Bangalore) at Indore railway station, the Minister said the new train would act as a bridge between the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh and the IT hub of the country, Bangalore.
The train will further open new vistas of development in the region, Scindia said, adding that economic and commercial activities of the State would get a boost with opening of an inter-national airport in Indore and expansion of the railway facilities. Scindia said even though he was not politically connected to the region, nor the region happened to be his political constituency, he had an emotional connection with Indore ever since his childhood when he used to come to the city along with his father.
The Minister said that his late father Madhavrao Scindia had done a lot of works not only in the expansion of railway facilities in the region but also played key role in ensuring establishment of an academic institution of excellence like Indian Institute of Management in Indore, while he was Human Resources Minister of the country. “Now as a worthy son of a worthy father, it is my duty to carry forwards the good and developmental works for the region as was dreamt by my late father,” said Scindia, adding that further efforts would be made for the expansion of railway facilities in Indore and meet the demands of various associations of the city to start more new trains from the city in the coming time.
later Scindia flagged off weekly Indore-Yashwantpur Express. The train (no 19301) will leave Indore every Sunday at 8.55 pm and will reach Yashwantpur (a suburban station of Bangalore city located 6 kms away from the main city) on Tuesday at 11.15 am. Similalry the train (19302) will leave Yashwantpur every Thursday at 5.15 am and will reach Indore on Saturday at 1.30 pm.
