Scindia accuses Govt of political vendetta

In connection with the arrest of Shivpuri municipality chairman, senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that the State Government of the BJP is working with political vendetta.

Notably, the elected chairman of Shivpuri municipality Munnalal Kushwaha was recently arrested on the charge of possessing BPl ration card. Since, Kushwaha hails from a poor family and belongs to backward class, he had the BPl ration card before he was elected chairman.

On the grounds that the municipality chairman possessed BPl ration card, he has been arrested and produced in the court. He was bailed out on Monday.

In an official statement, Scindia said that under a political conspiracy an FIR was registered against Kushwaha.

He alleged that under a conspiracy, Kushwaha was arrested on Saturday, so that he could not be bailed out for two days. Moreover, he was nabbed from the office of an advocate in Gwalior.

Scindia alleged that Kushwaha is an innocent and earnest people’s representative. On the one side, several accused in Vyapam scam are moving freely in the State, while on the other, innocent people are being targeted by the State government out of political vendetta.

He also stated that those mining mafia that have killed several government servants in Gwalior-Chambal have also not been arrested.

The police are acting only on the directives of BJP leaders and the State government and victimizing innocent people of Congress party. Scindia further said that it was only the judiciary which we believe in, provided bail to Kushwaha, otherwise the intentions of the State government were not good.
