The identity of public science is not research papers, it is transferred generation to generation, said founder of Madhavrao Sapre Museum Padamshree Vijaydutt Sridhar as chief guest while addressing a roundtable workshop under Make in India for senior citizens in the Vigyan Bhawan Science Festival.
Sridhar said, “Research papers were not written in public science, this knowledge transferred generation to generation, science is lying scattered here and there in nature. There is need to understand it and preserve it scientifically.”
Forty participants from different districts are taking part in the workshop. All the participants are those who have made contributions in society, agriculture, environment, education, health and other fields without any Government help and by remaining in the background. The science festival has been organised by the Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology Council.
Sridhar further said that the society does not get influenced by the preaching’s it is influenced by the conduct. Government could not alone bring cleanliness this work should become part of our conduct, he added.
He said that the senior citizens are contributing in the Make in India by remaining away from publicity and without any Government aid that is bigger than Government and creditable.
Emphasizing over biodiversity conservation the Padamshree awardees said that we have people like Babulal Dahiya in our State who with selfless spirit contributed in saving over 100 varieties of paddy.
Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology Council’s Director General Professor Pramod K Verma presiding over the function said, “We have invited those people who are strengthening the society without any Government help.
