The administration in most of the schools in the State capital are feared with the diktat of the district administration and the State Government that they decline to speak out anything on records regarding preparations being made for the address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.

The city schools are learnt to have set up Wi-Fi connections and have facilitated proper sitting arrangements in the school auditorium for the students and the teachers. The programme would be a live telecast and would be screened in the schools through projectors.

A school teacher of one of the CBSE schools who does not wish to reveal the name, said, “The school authorities have made the arrangements for the school students and teachers. Further, the school timings have been rescheduled and the teachers and students are invited to attend the school from 1 pm.”

Noticeably, the authorities of some schools are not comfortable with revealing their names as some schools are not arranging for the programme. Similarly, another school teacher from another CBSE school said, “Well, this is made compulsory for the schools to arrange for the programme and is voluntary for the students to attend it. For teachers it is made compulsory as a report of student’s reaction has to be submitted to the school authorities.”

Elaborating further, she said, “In our school (name not mentioned) as many as 400 students might attend the programme that too from high school classes.” Further, in some schools it is made compulsory for the students to attend the programme. Over this DEO KPS Tomar said, “It is totally up to the schools how they arrange the transportation and all other things. Our concern is only this that the students should listen to the PM.”

When asked about the schools not making arrangements for the programme, DEO said, “We will not take any strict action against the schools not preparing for the programme; rather the authorities of such schools will be answerable to the school children as these children will not get a chance to listen to the PM in a live telecast.”

Elaborating further, he said that the whole scenario will be known after the programme about how many schools did not arrange for the programme as no official inspection is being held for the same.

“The officials of education department will also be a part of the programme and will attend the speech in any of the schools of the city,”

he added.
