Directives to ensure 100 per cent results in annual exam next month have been given to principals of Schools for Excellence and division-level Model Schools.  The Principals have been informed that if they pay attention to some points then their students may appear in merit list and 100 percent results can be achieved.

The principals have been told to chalk out a list of students with poor performance. As per the list, students should be allocated to teachers who should be responsible for quality teaching. Instructions have been given to take decisions after holding discussions over students’ progress at teachers’ meeting. Directives have been given to hold remedial classes and their regular monitoring.

Teachers have been told to identify students having failed or performed poorly in half-yearly exams. Teachers should be nominated a guardian of students so that they may contact parents of students having failed or performed poorly. list of students having failed or performed poorly in half-yearly exams should be placed on the table of principals.

Academic discussions should be held daily with some students. During exams, constant touch should be made with such students and their morale boosted before and after appearing in exam on exam day. If improvement is not visible even after these efforts, such students should be provided some possible and easy questions to be asked in the exam with answers.

Special (merit worthy) students should be identified and their lists should be available with principal and teachers of all subjects. Their parents should be contacted and urged to further encourage students. They should be informed about state government’s scheme to reward students securing 85 percent or above marks under which laptops are given to students. Such students should be given guidance daily by subject teachers and principals and if required, assistance should be provided for additional teaching material from school development fund or any other local fund.
