The eighth convocation of the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Bhopal has been organised virtually using online platform Zoom. Chairperson, Board of Governors inaugurated the convocation to confer Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PhD degrees. Director, Prof. N. Sridharan presented the Institute annual report including the activities and achievements of SPA Bhopal and delivered the welcome address.
Respective HoDs presented recipients of degrees in their respective areas of specialization and Director, Prof. N. Sridharan as Chairperson of Senate, SPA Bhopal awarded the degrees. The Registrar of the institute presented the “Record of the Degrees” to the Chairperson, Board of Governors, SPA Bhopal for signature. All degree recipients were administered the convocation pledge.
Chief Guest of the occasion Prof. Aromar Revi, Director of the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) delivered a convocation speech addressing all the new graduates of different programmes.
In the occasion, 213 degrees were awarded to the graduating students which comprised of 71 Bachelor of Architecture, 18 Bachelor of Planning, 12 Master of Architecture (Conservation), 15 Master of Architecture (Landscape), 17 Master of Architecture (Urban Design), 17 Master Planning (Environmental Planning), 18 Master of Planning (Transport Planning and Logistics Management), 26 Master of Planning (Urban and Regional Planning), 17 Master of Design, and 2 PhD degrees. In the ceremony, 2 Medals of Excellence, 9 Proficiency Gold Medals and 9 Best Thesis Awards were awarded.
