School children learning facts about science

Published on:

The middle school children from various schools of the city are learning the facts about science and the various experiments of science in a play-way manner. Under a summer workshop being organised at the Regional Science Centre, the middle school children are trained to make the working models and carry out the experiments individually on a given topic.

Notably, the experts of the science centre have planned different topics out of the science text book for the children to learn something new out of it.

On the third day of the Creative Science Workshop organised at the Regional Science Centre, the children were taught about the hydraulics which is majorly based on the concept of pressure. All through the session, the students had fun with physics facts.

Here on Wednesday, the children were exposed to different science facts in two different sessions. Notably, in the first half of the programme students were exposed to various facilities at the science centre like ‘Taramandal’ which is an introductory programme towards astronomy and  also the students were made aware of the 3D science film show. Also a film show was organised on Wednesday.

In the second session, the students made a new science model on theme hydraulics, commonly known as a lifting jack. Under the practical session, the children were made aware of Pascal’s law which states that pressure exerted in a confined liquid transmits equally in all directions in a liquid. Using this principle mechanical work can be done. This principle is used in JCB machines, hydraulic jack, braking systems and many more. The participants enjoyed the third day of the workshop and participated enthusiastically.
