The Sawan Mela organised by Mrignayanee Emporium, Madhya Pradesh Handloom Handicraft Corporation Development commenced on Friday in the city at Gauhar Mahal is drawing huge crowd.
Set at the rustic backdrop of the historical shopping hub of the city, Sawan Mela has brought a huge range of dress materials and different items from the State.
Organiser of the fair Brijendra Singh while informing about the fair said, “There have been many fairs organised earlier which displayed varieties from different States across the country but, this time Sawan Mela showcases different range of articles from Madhya Pradesh itself.”
The mela displays all about the handloom and handicraft materials from all over the State. The vendors from 17 districts have come at the fair and wooing the shopaholics with the stuff.
This time the people of Bhopal are exploring the vibrant colours of State’s exceptional varieties of dress materials and other articles. Fair is embellished with the beautiful handicrafts and handloom in Chanderi, Maheshwari, Kosa Silk, decorative pieces, bronze statues and bamboo furniture as well.
Singh further informed that the dress materials in Chanderi, Maheshwari and Kosa Silk features salwar suits, sarees, running material. The textiles are beautifully adorned with Bagh print, Block print as well as Dabu print.
On asking about the response of the people at the fair Singh said, “The response is pretty good till now. People are being captivated towards buying the material and decorative pieces too at affordable prices.” The fair is captivating the interest of female buyers a lot.
