Satsang held to observe 'Manav Ekta Diwas'

The Sant Nirankari Mission organised a special satsang in Bhopal as part of observance of ‘Manav Ekta Diwas’ (Human Unity Day) in the sacred memory of Baba Gurbachan Singh Maharaj, who laid down his life for upholding the cause of peace, harmony and universal brotherhood on April 24, 1980.

Speaking on the occasion, Saint Sitaram ji from Jabalpur said that Baba Gurbachan Singh travelled in the country and abroad to spread the message of love, peace and human unity.

He said that it is ironical that today, we see communal tension and hatred and even bloodshed in the name of religion. The yawning distance between the hearts of men cannot be covered without the realisation of fatherhood of god and brotherhood of mankind, harmonising all tempers and temperaments.

To mark the 35th anniversary of martyrdom of Baba Gurbachan Singh Maharaj, Sant Nirankari Mission organised more than 100 blood donation camps in the country.  Thousands of Sant Nirankari volunteers and other devotees have donated their blood at different centres across the country.

The first blood donation camp was organised by the Mission in 1986. A number of these camps have been held regularly since then.  Initially, these camps were organised to coincide with the 'Manav Ekta Diwas’ observed on April 24 every year.

Since 1987, however, the camps have been staggered over the entire year beginning from April.
