The sarcastic play on multinational corporate culture ‘Swang Multinational’ was staged at Shaheed Bhavan here on Thursday.
The play was performed under the 13th Bhopal Rang Theatre Festival 2019. Directed by Sanjay Garg, the play was beautifully performed by Natya Lok Cultural and Social Welfare Society, Jabalpur. The play was all about the culture and traditions of multinational corporate.
The play highlighted on how these multinational corporate are digging a hole in society. It is actually dividing people into different sections and accordingly people interact with each other. Similarly, people behave with each other according to their respective sections.
The play tried to give an impression of what actually these companies are upto. The companies make a web of happy-go-lucky image of their market, trade and business so that people could fall in there and could never be out of it. Through the comic situations and sarcastic dialogues, the play tries to highlight the major issue which has never been raised. The play surrounds the life of a king and three thugs. There was a king who was very fond of wearing new cloths.
He was so obsessed with his attire that he never repeats the cloths he wears for a day. One day three thugs enter his kingdom.
The thugs then plans to loot all the wealth of the king. They were aware of the weakness of the kings and so they make a plan wherein they propose a ‘magical suit’ for the king. They tell the king that when he will wear the suit, only the elite ones can see it but not the poor. Impressed with the specialty of the suit, the king buys it and on the other hand the thugs looted all his wealth leaving him confused. The play was beautifully performed leaving the audience in whirls of laughter.
