Students of  Central Sanskrit University Bhopal  staged a protest for over 5 hours after a student doing PhD from Central Sanskrit University was hit by a loading vehicle in Bhopal.

The incident took place in front of the university gate at around 10 am on Friday morning. The student who fell after being hit by the vehicle has been admitted to AIIMS where the condition of the student is reportedly serious.

After the accident, the students of the institute protested at the gate of the institute creating a traffic jam on the road leading from Hoshangabad Road towards Bagh Mughaliya.

During the demonstration the students put forth two demands. First, a speed breaker should be built in front of the institute. Secondly, the liquor shop located nearby should be removed.

On information, police and administration officers reached the spot and gave advice. However, the students remained on strike from around 10.15 am to 4.15 pm. Later, the students ended the protest and said that they would go to meet the collector.

Chandrakant Choubey, an M.Ed student studying at the Sanskrit Institute, told that Shivam Tiwari was coming out of the Central Sanskrit University on his bike at 10 in the morning.

Then a speeding loading vehicle passing through the road hit him. He collided with the vehicle and fell on the ground. We immediately took him to AIIMS hospital by bike. Doctors are saying his condition is serious. Shivam is a resident of Damoh district, and is doing PhD in Education subject from Kendriya Sanskrit Sansthan.

Here, after the accident, the students said that we have been writing letters to the police and administration for a long time regarding the speeding vehicles passing through here. Despite this no one paid any attention.

Not only this, people standing at the liquor shop running nearby molest the girl students. Due to which they also face difficulty in commuting. Our demand is that these two problems should be resolved.

SDM Ashutosh Goswami said that Shivam Tiwari, a student of Central Sanskrit University in Bagh Sevaniya, had an accident. After which the students sat on the road. They were demanding construction of speed breakers at the site of the incident and removal of the nearby liquor shop. On the demand of students, we are making speed breakers here.
