Despite the State Government’s order regarding the dissolution of all boards, corporations and committees, Sanawwar Patel is still enjoying the position as chairman of the Madhya Pradesh State Haj Committee, providing him all Government facilities.
It may be mentioned that in a notification issued by General Administration department (GAD) of Madhya Pradesh Government on December 23, last year, it stated that the nomination of chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, directors and members of all the corporations, boards, authorities, committees and councils have been terminated with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, MPSHC chairman Sannawwar Patel, while talking to The Pioneer, claimed that the said order was not applicable to him and said the State Government had the authority to appoint him but not remove him.
Patel furthers said that though the State Government made appointments in the MPSHC, some institutions of the State were constituted as per Central Government Act and the MPSHC comes under the Central Act. Hence the State Government could make appointments but it did not have the powers to remove anyone, he stated.
“I am aware of the Chief Ministers’ announcement and GAD instructions that all corporations, boards, authorities, committees and councils must have been dissolved, but this order is not applicable on me,” Patel added.
On the other hand, MPSHC secretary and CEO Dawood Ahmed Khan expressed his ignorance about Government order of dissolution of the MPSHC and further said he was not authorised to express his view over the issue.” The copy of the circular was also marked to the secretary and CEO of the MPSHC informing that the facilities provided to the chairman have been taken back, hence he should ensure to implement the government order.
But the CEO and chairman continued to ignore the State Government orders, as Khan on Friday wrote a letter to the Commissioner Public Relations to issue Press statement on behalf of Patel expressing grief over demise of Bohra Community cleric, while Patel continued to avail the facilities including red beacon provided to him in the capacity of the chairman.
