The Jabalpur District Collector has directed Superintendent of Police (SP) of Jabalpur to register an FIR against four presidents of the Sainik Housing Cooperative Society that had sold out residential plots on government land around 22 years ago.

The tehsildar has conducted survey of the said land of the Sainik society and so far, it has been found that 39 houses and five plots are on government land. A case has already been registered against four former presidents of the society under different sections of Revenue Act. These presidents are- RR Dubey, Shivshankar Dubey, Ghanshyam Patel and PK Chaurasiya. During preliminary investigation, it was found that during tenure of these presidents of the society, innocent people were allotted govt lands as plots and plots were registered fraudulently.

The investigation further revealed that the plots were sold using unapproved plan by T & CP due to reduction of 80 ft road to 40 ft and same 40 ft area was sold to the buyers, said Praveen Dave whose building construction on the plot has been halted by administration.

Dave told that he had bought his plot 22 years ago and has never thought of shocking reality when he started construction on his plot. During the process, a complaint was lodged with revenue department, police and administration and subsequently, a stay was put on the construction work.

On the disputed area 39 houses have been constructed but when Dave started construction it was stopped as the plot was for development of road.

He alleged that even with Sanik Society's inception all presidents were aware of the fact that these plots are not legal.

The society president are accused of misrepresenting government property & stated that they acquired this from Jabalpur Development Authority Scheme Plan 2C and sold it to many consumers for residential use.
