Insinuating that Madhya Pradesh's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is fearing a drubbing in the next elections was spreading misleading information against the Congress to divert attention from infighting within, State Congress president Arun Yadav has penned a missive to Congressmen cautioning them against "rumours" being spread by the saffron party.
"Public service is the foremost goal for Congress workers. Presently, public has assigned us the role of a watchman, which the party is discharging efficiently," stated Yadav in an epistle extending greetings on the occasion of Vijayadashmi issued last night.
Referring to the 2018 state assembly elections, he said that every Congress worker is toiling to come up trumps in 'Mission 2018'. Common party workers as well as stalwarts stand united. In the coming time, the period of distance from power would come to an end.
Charging that the BJP was spreading rumours that the Congress is not united and there is a division between senior leaders for the chief ministerial post, Yadav said, "I want to make it clear that there is no ego clash among top leaders. The BJP is spreading lies only in order lessen the margin of their defeat in 2018 assembly elections."
He claimed that infighting among BJP leaders was not hidden. Bureaucracy has become unrestrained in the BJP rule while crimes are increasing. Therefore, the BJP has resorted to spreading disinformation in order to hide its own failures.
The state Congress chief urged people to demolish the lies allegedly being spread by the BJP. He asserted that internal democracy existed only with the Congress. ''The claim of internal democracy within the BJP was a sham. Ministers speaking truth are being shown the door. Parliamentarians, legislators and other people's representatives have been sidelined in the name of indiscipline,'' he alleged.
