Development and welfare schemes run by panchayats, Rural Development and Social Justice Departments will be expedited and completed within time-limit. For this, role of Janpad Panchayat offices will be further strengthened. Directives in this regard were given to field officers at a one-day workshop of the department here on Friday.
Various difficulties being faced in effective implementation of various departmental schemes were also redressed on the occasion. Chief Executive Officers of all 313 Janpad Panchayats, Assistant Engineers of Rural Engineering Service, Divisional Managers and Deputy Commissioners Rural Development posted at divisional headquarters participated in the workshop.
Additional Chief Secretary Panchayats, Rural Development & Social Justice Aruna Sharma directed that quality in construction works should be ensured. All development works should be completed within prescribed timeframe. Complaints received at Janpad Panchayat level should be redressed by CEOs within 15 days.
Sharma said that infrastructure works should be done speedily through MNREGA convergence to provide employment in rural areas. She directed to construct minimum 500 pucca toilets under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan in every development block during next month. Separate toilets for boys and girls must also be constructed in all government schools. The Additional Chief Secretary said that strict action will be taken against officers found negligent in duties.
The Additional Chief Secretary directed that verification of ongoing construction works in Gram Panchayats should be made every fortnight invariably. Commissioner MNREGA Ravindra Pastor, Commissioner Panchayats Raghuveer Shrivastava, Director Samgra Social Security Mission Sanket Bhondve, Missioner Director, State Water and Sanitation and Integrated Watershed Area Management Programme Hemwati Vardhan and Chief Engineer, Rural Engineering Service Prabhakant Katare also dwelt in detail about effective implementation of programmes and schemes. Directives were also given in the programme about effective implementation of Mid-day Meal Scheme, National Rural livelihoods Mission and rural housing schemes. Information about new rural development programmes through MNREGA convergence was also given on the occasion.
